Bring the whole family to Lapland, the home of Santa Claus, and enjoy a fun-filled and festive time in a magical Winter Wonderland...

Once you arrive in this wonderful twilight world in northern Finland, we have included for you a host of seasonal activities for all ages such as...

  • Snowmobile and toboggan rides.
  • A husky dog drive and forest scooter driving.
  • A ride through the magical winter forest on a sleigh drawn by reindeer.
  • The chance to meet Father Christmas who will give each child a little gift as a special memento of their day in Lapland.
  • Walks in the snowy woods lit with beautiful Christmas lights.
  • Opportunities for Christmas shopping.

All activities are organised by a local and well-established Finnish tour operating firm and they take place in a magical winter area lit with fires, torches and Christmas lights. You will be given thermal clothing, to wear outdoors, on the day.

  • Return flight from Glasgow airport to Rovaniemi, with in-flight catering
  • Activities in Lapland, as described
  • A hot buffet lunch
  • All airport taxes and security charges and the government tax on air travel (APD)
  • Services of an English speaking tour manager
  • VAT at the government's prevailing rate at the date of travel

Departing by air from Glasgow airport at about 7.15am, breakfast will be served on board the aircraft, before landing in Rovaniemi between 12 noon and 1.15pm local time, (which is two hours ahead of U.K. time). On arrival, you will be transferred by coach to Santa’s Winter Wonderland, located up to 15 km from the airport, in the middle of a beautiful pine forest for the outdoor activities and to meet Father Christmas.

A hot buffet lunch will be served indoors during the activity time. Later in the afternoon you will then continue to the Santa Claus Village, which is a great place for Christmas shopping and where you can send postcards with a special Father Christmas stamp. We will return you, by coach, to Rovaniemi airport for your homeward flight at about 9.00-10.00pm, with an approximate arrival time in the UK of 10.00pm-11.00pm. (A meal will be served on board).

Please note: you are required to dress warmly, so that you can enjoy your time outdoors. A warm hat, thermal underwear, warm socks, a high-necked jumper or shirt, warm trousers and a wool sweater or fleece are advised for all. On arrival in Finland you will be given thermal overalls, winter shoes, a scarf, socks and gloves/mittens.

Due to the cold temperatures in the Arctic Circle, travel to Lapland is not advised for any children under 3 years old. All flight times are local times and are approximate. Although not expected at the time of printing, any time may be subject to change. Precise flight times will be confirmed in your itinerary, which will be sent to you before departure. You will be required to be at the airport 2 hours before departure, with the latest check-in time one hour prior to take off.

The descriptions of the Winter activities described in this leaflet are believed to be correct, at the time of printing. Omega Holidays cannot be held responsible for any changes to the programme the Finnish organisers might make. We reserve the right to amend any activities, in the unlikely event of poor snow conditions or lack of snow and to amend the running order of the day, if required.
